From file to note
The file is copied into MemoFlow, so it stays playable even if the original is moved or deleted.
- In the recording library, choose Import audio file and pick one file.
- Check the recording's language. An import uses your default Speech Recognition Language; change it on the recording's page if the file is in another language.
- Tap AI recognition. The page updates when the transcript is ready; Show speakers then separates the turns by speaker.
- Save the transcript as a note. From then on its words appear in note search, and you can ask MemoFlow AI about it or generate a meeting summary from it.
Which files work
M4A (which is what iPhone Voice Memos exports), MP3, WAV and AAC. FLAC, OGG and video files are not accepted, and files are imported one at a time.
Set the language before you tap
Recognition runs in the one language set on the recording. A file recognised in the wrong language does not stop with an error; it comes back as text in the language you chose, which can read fluently and still be wrong. If most of your files are in one language, set it as the default Speech Recognition Language once; for the odd file in another language, change it on that recording's page before starting recognition.
Mixed-language recordings are recognised in the selected language only, so pick the language most of the file is spoken in.
After recognition
The recording's page shows the transcript under the player, and Show speakers separates it by speaker. Save as note turns it into a regular note: it can be edited, found by note search, used as context for MemoFlow AI or a meeting summary, and exported as Word, PDF or Markdown.
The audio stays in the recording library, so you can play back the passage behind a line you are unsure about.
What an import does not get
An imported file is recognised after the fact, so there are no live captions and no Live Interpretation for it. Recognition runs in one language chosen by you; there is no automatic detection.
Limits to know
- Basic can import and play files but cannot run AI recognition on them.
- No web upload: MemoFlow runs on iPhone and Android only.
